Champagne Latitude from the house of Larmandier-Bernier, is a non-vintage champagne, which seals in a bottle the winemaking tradition of the two families and pays tribute to their continuous contribution to the promotion of the reputation of the Côte des Blancs, since the French Revolution! Today the house is in the hands of the 8th generation of the family, which with the biodynamic cultivation, underlines the special elements of the terroir, which give rich, purely aromatic champagnes with mineral notes.
40% of Champagne Latitude comes from the house's wine stock, since 2004! It was originally known as "Tradition", in honor of the family's winemaking tradition, but later it was named Latitude, to emphasize that the Chardonnay grapes come from a single and very special latitude south of Vertus, which produces richly aromatic and round-bodied wrist.
After the grapes are picked manually, after gentle pressing and collection of their juice, they are transferred to special barrels that respect the variety and leave a very distinctive character, without changing its aromatic potential. After the first fermentation, the wine remains with the lees for one year, while after bottling and the second fermentation, it remains in the bottle for at least another two years!
Wine critics applaud it with Robert Parker, James Suckling, Decanter, and Wine Spectator rating it 90pts, 93pts, 94pts, and 92pts respectively. Of course, it couldn't go unnoticed by Janis Robinson, who gave it a 17/20!
And you haven’t tasted it yet?!
