Blanc de Blancs Brut from G.H. Martel & Co is a true Champagne that harmoniously blends vibrant acidity, generous texture, and the refined elegance characteristic of a classic Blanc de Blancs. This cuvée showcases the purest expression of Chardonnay, crafted with the finesse and expertise of one of Champagne’s most respected houses. Both gastronomic and complex, yet surprisingly accessible, it lends an air of sophistication to any setting—be it a celebratory toast or an intimate dinner.
Founded in 1869, G.H. Martel & Co stands as one of the most authentic ambassadors of Champagne, with a rich heritage rooted in the heart of the region. The story began with the Tabourin family, who had long been involved in grape harvesting in Avenay Val d'Or near Épernay. Their vision was to craft Champagnes of exceptional quality. In 1979, following the passing of Mr Tabourin, the house was acquired by the Rapeneau family, who continue to run it to this day. Brothers Christophe and Jean-François Rapeneau represent the fourth generation, entrusted with preserving and evolving this legacy. Today, G.H. Martel is a name of prestige in Champagne, cultivating vineyards with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, and operating state-of-the-art underground cellars spanning 20,000 square metres—ensuring optimal ageing conditions before release.
Blanc de Blancs Brut G.H. Martel & Co is made exclusively from 100% hand-harvested Chardonnay grapes, sourced from selected vineyards in Montagne de Reims. The first fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, followed by a second fermentation in bottle, in accordance with the traditional méthode champenoise. The wine is then aged in the house’s cellars for a minimum of 15 months, developing complexity, creamy texture, and a fine, persistent mousse.
G.H. Martel & Co is a benchmark in the art of Champagne-making, and Blanc de Blancs Brut is a testament to Rapeneau’s exemplary expertise. Its modest price belies the pleasure it delivers.
