Why do we love it?

Santa Margherita’s Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut captures the soul of the region with remarkable finesse. Crafted from Glera grapes grown in carefully selected vineyards across the DOCG zone, it offers a harmonious blend of fruit-forward character, elegance, refreshing acidity, and vibrant freshness. This is Valdobbiadene at its most classic and authentic.

Santa Margherita is one of Italy’s most historic and iconic wineries, with roots dating back to 1935 and a deep connection to tradition and sustainability. It cultivates vineyards in three top winegrowing regions — eastern Veneto, Alto Adige, and Conegliano-Valdobbiadene — producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of each area. It was among the first to produce Prosecco in Valdobbiadene, with Glera vines planted as early as the 1950s! To this day, it continues to craft some of Italy’s most iconic and high-quality Proseccos. In fact, in 2021, it was named “Winery of the Year,” sealing its reputation for excellence.

For Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut Santa Margherita, the grapes are grown on the hills between Valdobbiadene and Conegliano, at altitudes ranging from 150 to 400 metres. The soil there is ideal for producing high-quality grapes, and the vines are planted in a way that encourages good airflow and sun exposure. This allows the grapes to ripen without the threat of disease, while developing an ideal aromatic intensity. After the second fermentation, which takes place in sealed tanks, the wine remains on the lees for at least three months, gaining a more complex character.

If you love refined sparkling wines with personality and style — or if you’re simply looking for an all-day aperitif — Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut Santa Margherita is bound to become your favourite!
