Santa Margherita Winery is a winery with a huge history. This year, in fact, it was named "Winery of the Year" by the reputable Gambero Rosso Guide. With a history of more than 50 years, they have learned to handle very well both the varieties and the morphological characteristics of the region, and this results in the creation of high-quality wines.

"Rive di Refrontolo" Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Brut Santa Margherita is one of them! The grapes come from Refrontolo of Treviso and after the second fermentation in a closed tank, the wine remains in contact with its wine lees for 3 months acquiring extra complexity and structure. The fruity aromas of the variety are perfectly underlined and combined with notes of dough and brioche.

"Rive di Refrontolo" Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Brut Santa Margherita has pale lemon color and rich mousse. On the nose the aromas of green apple, pear, grape, lemon, orange blossom, peach, and dough dominate.

In the mouth, it has a medium to light body and refreshing acidity. Juicy pear, citron, lime, peach, lemon zest, honeysuckle, and citrus blossoms fill up the mouth in every sip.

with spaghetti al pesto, fish, oysters, lobster or dishes scented with herbs.

Steamed mussels with white wine and black pepper

  • 1 kg mussels, whole (with shell) cleaned and scraped. Alternatively prefer frozen
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • 3 tbsps. of finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 glass of white wine, preferably Assyrtiko

Place the mussels without water in a large saucepan or pan on a high heat and add plenty of pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes until they open. Throw away mussels that will remain closed. Pour in the wine and leave it for a 1 minute in the heat until the excess of liquids is reduced.

Drain the mussels and hold the liquid left in the pan. Place the mussels in a deep platter. Drain the liquors from the mussels and pass them through a cheesecloth and then put them in a small bowl. Add the parsley to the bowl, stir, pour the mixture over the mussels, and serve.
