SAN TA MARATHA - SYROS WINERY
San Ta Maratha of Syros Winery is here and you‘d better put several bottles in your cellar because you know how fast it runs out every year! Yes, Assyrtiko is undoubtedly the protagonist of the wine scene and Santorini does not have the exclusivity anymore. Syros has entered the game for good! As Santorini's wines raise their prices, San Maratha will remain the most affordable and typical expression of Assyrtiko.
RIESLING BOLLENBERG - DOMAINE CAMILLE BRAUN
Exotic, fruity, and delicious, Riesling Bollenberg Domaine Camille Braun will make you love Riesling if you haven't already. Domaine Camille Braun have been involved in organic and biodynamic cultivation since 2011 and in recent years they have been making wines with minimal or zero interventions, according to the standards of natural winemaking. Their Riesling is a result of this philosophy, it ferments with indigenous yeasts and matures on its fine lees for several months until it is ready for bottling. A top expression of the variety!
HOOF & LUR - TROUPIS WINERY
Hoof & Lur by Troupis Winery is an ode to the plateau of Mantinia! Hoof & Lur is the most special version of all and rightly drew the attention of the American press. The recipe includes fermentation with indigenous yeast, extended skin contact, and minimal use of sulfites. Yes, as you can imagine from the above, Hoof & Lur is an orange, natural, Moschofilero. We will close with the quotation of Paula Froelich, of the New York Post: "It is fragrant, flowery, salty, zesty and crazy good!"
XINOMAVRO ROSE - ZINIDEOS WINERY
Xinomavro rosé Zinideos is a rosé that even with your eyes closed you could guess its variety. The aromas of tomato and red fruits are so expressive that they leave no doubt. The careful vinification, at controlled temperatures and with short extraction give a wine with a bright pomegranate color and explosive Xinomavro aromas. We loved it!
GERANIUM ROSE - KARAVITAKIS WINERY
Geranium Rose Karavitakis Vineyards is the closest to the great wines of Provence you can find but from Greek territory. Nikos Karavitakis got the best fruit and at the optimum time with very careful vinification, he got the most delicate aromas and the most wonderful pink color. Then took a very small portion and put it in old oak barrels and the rest was matured in stainless steel tanks, for 4 months, with the wine lees. This is how Geranium Rose Karavitakis Vineyards was born and there really is no other rose wine to overshadow it.
LIMNIONA - DOMAINE MIGAS
The wine that drove the judges of Thessaloniki crazy (and rightly so) has just arrived in our cellar and is probably the red that we will drink all summer long! Limniona Domaine D. Migas was one of the most impressive reds of the Thessaloniki International Wine Competition and fought head-to-head for the title of the Best red in show. Careful vinification and aging for 14 months in French oak barrels gave a wine with unique finesse and expressiveness.
