Glenallachie is a malt whiskey distillery at Speyside in Aberlour, founded in 1967 and it produces mainly blended whiskies.
Glenallachie 12 years old is matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry barrels, Oloroso sherry barrels, and Virgin oak barrels, carefully selected by Billy Walker himself who is a legend of distillation with more than 50 years of experience in distilling whiskey. Distillation is achieved at 46% alc/vol without filtering and adding caramel color. It is considered one of the most value for money options in its category, affordable both in its price and in the palate.
Glittering bronze in the glass. On the nose, butterscotch and honey aromas have the upper hand, with prunes, raisins, and mocha in the foreground. The mouth is dominated by honey and rye, which are perfectly balanced with hints of mocha and dried fruit.
