Hefebrand Lost Lake Distillery is an original distillate from the fine lees of Muses Estate’s wines. It successfully combines the intense aromatic element of the grape varieties with the rich body, in a truly impressive ensemble!
The Lost Lake Distillery was founded in 1999 by the Zacharias family, in the plain of Kopaida, on the "shores of Lost Lake". From there, after all, it got its name. The family is behind the beloved Muses Estate so as you can imagine they have excellent quality grapes so the grape-based spirits were almost one way. Last year, for the first time, they tried to make a distillate from the wine lees of their wines, the result of which excited them so much that they created the Hefebrand Lost Lake Distillery.
Hefebrand Lost Lake Distillery comes from Malagouzia, Sauvignon Blanc, Assyrtiko, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Agiorgitiko lees. It is distilled in discontinuous copper column stills and thus an aromatic, oily, and rich spirit is obtained in only 1.000 bottles!
Try it with spicy, fatty appetizers or syrupy sweets!
It has aromas of toast, ripe fruits such as apricot, orange, and fig, and intense aromas of flowers. Discreet earthy notes complete the bouquet. It has a rich body, oily feeling, and is quite mellow, with alcohol being perfectly integrated into the whole. Long fruity aftertaste that lasts.
