The Maison du Rhum Discovery series was created to showcase unique rums from different regions of the world. In the case of Panama, production is based on sugarcane grown in volcanic soils, giving the spirit a distinctive character. This rum is made from molasses and distilled in discontinuous columns, following the Spanish tradition of “ron.” It then matures and completes its aging with a three‑month finish in Palo Cortado sherry casks, which lend it roundness and depth.
The Maison du Rhum Panama has been aged for 3 months in Palo Cortado sherry barrels, which have given it a delightful, rounded character.
On the nose, it reveals aromas of citrus and wood, with notes of ripe banana and vanilla. On the palate, it is creamy and rich, with flavors of baked fruits, cinnamon, and sweet spices, while the finish is long and persistent, with hints of raisin and subtle sweetness.
