Behind Puro stands Thanos Karathanos, a man who has dedicated his life to wine and spirits. A chemist, oenologist and international judge, he has spent years researching aged distillates and founded Greece’s first artisan distillery: a tiny distillery nestled in the Agrafa mountains. Deeply rooted in organic farming, viticulture and traditional distillation, his goal is to highlight the richness of local production and craft spirits that truly stand out. The result is a series of small-production distillates, created with the same care and dedication you would put into making something for your own home.
For Puro, he works with absolute respect for the raw material. The Muscat Noir grapes come from his own certified organic vineyard. Distillation takes place in a still he personally designed after years of experience, while the spirit is aged for at least five years in oak barrels before the final blending, resulting in a distillate with character and depth capable of standing alongside some of the finest spirits from around the world.
