35N Syrah Tsikoudia is a unique, single-varietal spirit distilled from the powerful red grape variety, Syrah. It captures the strength of the Cretan land and the rich character of Syrah in a smooth, velvety, and well-rounded expression.
35N Cretan Distillery, based in Rethymno, was founded by Ilias Melissourgos and takes its name from the 35th parallel a line of latitude that crosses Crete, an island with over 5,000 years of tradition in agriculture, winemaking, and distillation.
This tsikoudia is crafted using traditional fractional pot distillation in copper stills, from high-quality Syrah grapes. Every step of the process is designed to highlight the grape’s signature aromas and complexity.
Best enjoyed at 54°F (12°C) let it sit in the glass for a few minutes to fully open up. Pair it with spicy meat-based appetizers and, of course, good company!
On the nose, bold notes of blackberry, strawberry, and cherry take center stage, accented by the spicy kick of freshly cracked black pepper.
On the palate, it is rich and velvety, with a smooth, rounded structure and a long, lingering finish full of spice.
