Areore 2021 from Scarbolo Winery is a truly distinctive white wine that offers a unique expression of Friuli through the harmonious coexistence of three grape varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Tocai Friulano. Its name, inspired by the word “aere” (air), evokes freedom, elevation, and purity—qualities that are reflected in every sip.
Scarbolo Winery, based in Lauzacco in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, is a family-run estate led by Mattia and Annalisa Scarbolo. They cultivate their vineyards using a holistic approach that respects and preserves the ecosystem, and they follow non-interventionist methods in winemaking (gentle natural vinification).
Areore 2021 - Scarbolo Winery is crafted from 20-year-old vines of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Tocai Friulano. The choice of varieties is intentional: Chardonnay provides structure, Sauvignon Blanc adds aromatic intensity, and Tocai Friulano brings local identity. The wine ferments with ambient yeasts in stainless steel tanks and tonneaux, matures in tonneaux for 22 months, and is bottled unfiltered, showcasing the authenticity of its terroir.
Areore 2021 is the result of a collaboration between man and nature—not designed to impress with flashy techniques, but to win you over with its vibrant and distinctive character.
