Arkóvatos by L’Heritage Korres is a crisp white wine you don’t come across every day — not just because it hails from the rugged, mountainous northwest of Naxos, but also thanks to the old, own-rooted vines it’s made from. Add in a unique blend led by the rare Potamisi grape and the skilled hands of Panos and Spyros Zouboulis, and you’ve got something truly special.
Arkóvatos by L’Heritage Korres is born in a small but special vineyard, perched on steep terraces in the highlands of Naxos. The vines are century-old, ungrafted, and bush-trained, growing in clay-limestone soils with excellent drainage. Everything is done by hand — from the early morning harvest to the meticulous grape selection — following certified organic and some biodynamic practices. Nothing is random here. The name Arkóvatos isn’t random either. It refers to a wild, climbing plant found in the vineyard’s Arkobathia plot, once believed by the ancient Greeks to have healing properties — a nod to the natural, untamed character of the wine.
The blend for Arkóvatos by L’Heritage Korres is made up of 80% Potamisi, 17% Aidani, and 3% Monemvasia — indigenous Cycladic varieties that bring freshness, aromatic lift, and a distinct island identity. The winemaking is gentle and thoughtful, true to Zouboulis’ style: whole bunch pressing, fermentation in stainless steel, and ageing on fine lees for 4–6 months with regular bâtonnage for added texture and depth.
