Why do we love it?

Chardonnay “Palios Mylos” 2023 from Domaine Michaelidi is a rich, expressive white wine, made from grapes sourced from a single vineyard (Palios Mylos), with limited production – only 1,200 bottles – bearing the signature of the land and its creator.

The winery of Iordanis Michaelidis in Agios Athanasios, Drama, works with both indigenous and international grape varieties, crafting wines with character and quality. Iordanis represents the third generation of his family involved in winemaking. Today, he is continuing the family tradition with passion and dedication.

For Chardonnay “Palios Mylos” 2023 from Domaine Michaelidi, the grapes come exclusively from this specific vineyard in Kyrgia, Drama, and the care they receive is almost ritualistic. After harvest, the wine spends six months in oak barrels, gaining depth, complexity, and a fine, velvety texture.

Like any good wine, Chardonnay “Palios Mylos” 2023 - Domaine Michaelidi has an aging potential of 3–5 years, allowing it to evolve and reveal new facets of its character over time.

Tastes Like

On the nose, it unfolds a bouquet of aromas: citrus fruits, white flowers, exotic fruits, along with more complex notes of honey, beeswax, vanilla, and roasted nuts from its oak aging.

On the palate, the wine is rich, with a slightly oily texture, refreshing acidity, and a long, juicy peachy aftertaste.

with pasta with rich sauces, fatty fish, or oven-roasted lamb with herbs.

Stuffed lamb cooked in vine leaves

For the lamb roll


4000 gr. lamb leg, deboned
1 package of vine leaves
3 grilled peppers 
300 gr. kefalograviera
Freshly ground pepper
Salt

For the marinade


5 cloves of garlic
4 tablespoons dill
4 tablespoons parsley
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
1 spring onion
80ml olive oil
Freshly ground pepper
Salt

In addition, we will need


Baking sheets

In a blender, mash all the marinade ingredients.

Season the lamb well on all sides and spread the marinade on the inside.

Spread 2-3 sheets on your counter, which will fit the lamb, spread the vine leaves and place the lamb above them.

Fill the peppers with the cheese, place them in the middle and wrap in a roll, lifting the oil sheet with the vine leaves.

Close well, place the roll in a baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180o C for 4 hours.

Serve the roll hot or at room temperature.

Extra tips

-We can fill the lamb with any filling we like such as rice or pine nuts
-If we do not like dill, we skip it
