The Chardonnay from the Domaine Vourvoukelis is a single-varietal juicy Greek white wine from the most cosmopolitan white variety, which seems to have perfectly suited the clay soil of Avdira and with the cool breeze of the Thracian sea, giving its most delightful and fruity!
Domaine Vourvoukelis, in Avdira, Xanthi, cultivates both local and international vineyards and belongs to those who gave a different image to the viticultural activities of Western Greece. Nikos Vourvoukelis grew up in the vineyard and loved it more than anything else. Thus, in 1999, he decided to plant 20 acres on the slopes of Xanthi which have now become 120, with his first bottling in 2001. Merlot, Syrah, and Cinsault bore fruit in the microclimate of the area and gave wines with complexity, structure, and special character, which put Thrace on the Greek wine map!
This vineyard belongs to the ancient Greek vineyards, which, after a scientific study of the climatic and soil characteristics, selected the best areas, ideal for the organic cultivation of each variety. The low temperatures and the beneficial effect of the sea breeze of the Thracian Sea ensure the best conditions for the most complete development of the plants and their fruit.
Chardonnay, from Domaine Vourvoukelis, is one of those whites that is worth trying!
