Why do we love it?

We could go on for hours about Château Marjosse Blanc 2022, but we’ll try to keep it short and sweet. Pierre Lurton. Sauvignon Blanc. Sémillon. Bordeaux. Just the right touch of oak. 92 points from James Suckling, 91 from Decanter. Convinced yet, or shall we go on?

Château Marjosse boasts a long and storied history in Bordeaux, dating back to the 19th century. But behind it stands a man who truly knows how to craft exceptional wines. Pierre Lurton is the man behind the legendary Château Cheval Blanc and Château d’Yquem. His connection to Château Marjosse began in 1990, when he inherited some vineyards in the Entre-deux-Mers region. A few years later, he purchased the old Chateau, and by 2013, he had acquired the entire estate, transforming it into a modern winery with Grand Cru-level expertise.

Each small parcel of vineyard is vinified separately, with great respect for its microclimate and unique characteristics. The result? Wines of exceptional quality that reflect both the authenticity of the region and the personality of each grape variety. Château Marjosse Blanc 2022 is a perfect example. The blend is made up of 45% Sémillon, 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Sauvignon Gris, and 5% Muscadelle, from vines averaging 25 years of age. After fermentation, the wine is aged on its fine lees for 2–3 months in cement vats and used 500-litre French oak barrels, resulting in a fresh, balanced white that showcases each variety just as it should.

Pierre Lurton is the magician of Bordeaux, and Château Marjosse Blanc 2022 is his latest spellbinding creation.

On the nose, it bursts with expressive aromas of grapefruit, lime, pear, pineapple, and white peach, accompanied by delicate hints of gooseberry, bay leaf, jasmine, and lemongrass.

On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with refreshing acidity and a subtle creamy texture. Juicy lemon, lime, peach, and mango take centre stage, supported by notes of fresh-cut grass, almond, and honeysuckle.

BLANC 2022 - CHÂTEAU MARJOSSE

PAIR IT

Pair it with herb-crusted trout, monkfish skewers with turmeric, or fresh goat cheese with lemon marmalade.

Salad with smoked trout, green apple and herbs

For the salad
1 pack of mixed lola and arugula salad
1 fillet of smoked trout
1 green apple
1 finocchio
3 radishes
3-4 walnuts
trout eggs, optional

For dressing
2 green onions
15 gr dill
10 g fennel
1 clove of garlic
20 ml. vinegar of white wine
1 lemon
40 ml. olive oil
Freshly ground pepper
Coarse salt

Prepare the dressing: In a food processor (multi), mix all the ingredients for the dressing, by adding the olive oil in the end, while tasting and seasoning.

Finely chop the finocchio, chunk the green apple and the two radishes, put them in a bowl and add half the quantity of trout fillet, which you have crumbled with your hands.

Pour half the amount of dressing, mix and place the fish salad in the fridge. Cut the other radish into thin slices and place the salad in a serving bowl and sprinkle with the dressing.

Add the already prepared fish salad, the remaining tout fillet, the radishes, the walnuts and the trout eggs. We garnish with plenty of dressing and serve.

Notes:
- Instead of smoked trout you can use any other smoked fish
- In the salad you can add orange
