The Naked Queen 2022 from Pieria Eratini Estate walks among us stripped of excess and ornamentation, revealing the power of simplicity and the character of her land. Her loyal companions? Assyrtiko and Chardonnay, the unique terroir of Mount Olympus, the patience of time, the elegance of acacia wood, and the devotion of the winemakers who make her shine!
Founded in 2007 in Kolindros, Pieria, by oenologists Pavlos Argyropoulos, Andreas Pantos, and Stelios Pyrpilis, Pieria Eratini Estate was born from a vision to showcase the wine potential of the Olympus region. The estate’s vineyards lie in an exceptional location between mountain and sea, at the foothills of Mount Olympus, covering about 15 hectares. Cultivation is organic, and the unique microclimate favors wines with freshness, complexity, and aging potential. The winery invests exclusively in low yields and unique winemaking choices, resulting in wines that consistently and deeply express their origin.
For The Naked Queen 2022, they combined 85% Assyrtiko and 15% Chardonnay from low-yield vineyards. Fermentation takes place in new acacia barrels, imparting delicate aromas of acacia blossom and honeysuckle. The wine then matures on its fine lees, gaining volume and complexity. A total of 12 months in acacia barrels gives the wine a luxurious texture and a truly aristocratic character—worthy of a real queen.
