Why do we love it?

We silently looked at each other as soon as we tried the Naked White - Weingut Heinrich and started nodding condescendingly. We loved its fresh and fruity character, floral spring aromas, and refreshing acidity. If we also comment on its price, this is the most value-for-money white you will enjoy daily!

Gernot and Heike Heinrich 1985 decided to dedicate themselves to the production of quality and representative wines of the region and took over the Gernot family winery in 1985. They believed in the peaceful symbiosis of the vines, with the complex but perfectly healthy ecosystem in which they live. The vineyards are located on both sides of Lake Neusiedl, with a diversity of soil composition. Today they produce natural wines with the least possible intervention, from the vine to the bottling.

For Naked White - Weingut Heinrich the grapes are picked from both sides of the lake. The harvest is done manually and makes a mosaic of many varieties with Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc taking the lead. While the varieties Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Neuburger, Muskat Ottonel, Pinot Gris, and Roter Traminer, make the team unbeatable! By soaking them overnight, the aromas are enhanced and then spontaneous fermentation of the whole bunches with natural yeasts begins. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and aging, over a year, on natural lees in large wooden barrels. It is bottled unfiltered with minimal use of sulfites.

Naked White is a completely natural and very tasty blend that is in perfect harmony with nature. This party of flavors and senses is easily enjoyed alone, but if you put it on the table it will become the best ally of the juicy burger, the variety of cheeses, and the seafood dish.

Tastes Like

It has a golden color with yellow highlights. Thick aromas of ripe pear and orange. Spicy notes of ginger, anise, and freshly ground white pepper appear, while the palette is complemented by fresh aromas of rose petal, lemon blossom, and honey, with a soft stony minerality on the finish.

In the mouth, it has a medium body with lively acidity. Juicy apple, and pear fruit framed by notes of citrus, yeast, butter, and salty notes. Excellent structure and a perfectly balanced whole, with a long aftertaste.

NAKED WHITE 2022 - WEINGUT HEINRICH

PAIR IT

Pair it with raw seafood dish, Moroccan Chicken Tagine or pasta with smoked salmon.

Chicken with coriander

  • 75 gr raw, unsalted cashews
  • 4 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsps. of sunflower oil
  • 3 small green peppers finely chopped after removing the spores
  • 25gr fresh coriander and a little more for serving
  • 1 tsp. of coriander powder
  • ½ tbsp. of cumin
  • 6 seeds of cardamom, shriveled
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 4 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 25g fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 chicken breasts without bone and skin, cut into pieces
  • slices of lime for serving

Let the cashews soak for 20 minutes in 200ml of cold water.

Fry the onions with 2 tablespoons of olive oil until they are softened and slightly browned.

Once the nuts soften, place them in a blender along with water, onions, peppers and coriander. Blend them at moderate to high speed until they become an homogeneous, thick mixture.

Heat the remaining oil and gently cook the spices, garlic and ginger for a few minutes. Add the thick mixture and chicken, stir well and cook in moderate to high heat for a few minutes.

Add 200ml of water and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked perfectly. Allow it to absorb its liquids without drying out. Serve with rice, drizzle with a little lime juice and sprinkle with chopped fresh coriander.
