Chardonnay Langhe DOC - Massolino will generously give you the most delightful and balanced expression of the Chardonnay grape from the Langhe region of Italy and a winery committed to producing very quality wines with a beacon of tradition!
In the heart of the famous Langhe region in Piemonte, Italy, the history of the Massolino family begins in 1896, with Giovanni Massolino, and is still owned and run by the same family. In 1930, his children built the winery's first cellar and bottled the first wine, while participating in the creation of the Consorzio di Tutela Barolo, Barbaresco, Alba, Langhe, and Dogliani. In 1956 they bought Vigna Rionda and little by little the winery expanded, acquiring more vines in the surrounding areas and the most important crus. Nebbiolo is the most important grape variety of the region and the winery, but in addition to red wines, they also produce 3 white Langhe DOCs, one of which is Chardonnay.
Chardonnay comes from the best vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba. A percentage of them has gone through old oak barrels and the rest through concrete tanks. After the wine has fermented, it remains for a full 12 months in contact with the lees and is then bottled and spends another 6 months in the bottle before being released on the market.
Chardonnay Langhe DOC - Massolino is a charming wine that perfectly expresses the unique terroir of the Langhe region but also has tremendous versatility in food pairings. If you are preparing a festive table, this definitely cannot be missing!
