Makripodia - Lithos Winery was worth every minute of experimental vinification! The very rare white variety Makripodia has been in the background for almost a decade. But its sharp acidity did not always have the desired results. It has been through fire and iron and now it is at its best, in a top-level wine!
The actual origin of the variety is from Zakynthos and it was a great experiment for the oenologists Tsoutsouras Epaminondas and Tzako Dimitris. The first researcher, and the second winemaker, met her on their way in a period of oenological retrospection and revival of the native and rare varieties of Zakynthos and fortunately, they could not pass her by. Without second thoughts, Dimitris built a model experimental vineyard in his place of origin, Tsekouri, in Souli Epirus. At an altitude of 600 meters just above the sources of the Acheron and after a series of vinifications, Makripodia found its master and the area with the right climatic conditions to set up its country house there, highlighting the aristocratic, but at the same time very intimate character.
Simple and beautiful, if you are crazy about the acidity of Assyrtiko, but want to enjoy the characteristic elegance of champagne, on a daily and very affordable (price!) basis, this is the wine you will get. Its aging is predicted to be long and promising, so don't settle for one bottle, as quantities are limited.
