Why do we love it?

Malagouzia Domaine Costa Lazaridi is a Malagouzia that doesn’t resemble to any other. In addition to the typical aromas of the variety, it has a little more personality and nerve than the rest and high, lemony acidity that make every sip enjoyable!

The emblematic winery of Costa Lazaridi in Drama, apart from all the other excellent wines it makes, has decided, in recent years, to deal with Malagouzia as well. Many years of experience and know-how are reflected in this very different Malagouzia. Why different? Because Malagouzia Domaine Costa Lazaridi comes from a vineyard at 900 meters and because part of it is fermented and matured in French oak barrels, giving volume, structure and complexity to the whole. The bottle is extremely impressive with a chic glass closure that fits perfectly with the contents.

You must try this Malagouzia!

Domaine Costa Lazaridi

Costas Lazaridis, after returning from Germany where he worked for the family marble business and deeply influenced by the world of wine, planted the first linear vineyard in Drama in 1979. A few years later, in 1986, the region's first winery became a reality and also served as a bottling facility. Costas Lazaridis was one of the pioneers in transforming Drama into a City of Wine. In 1996, he launched the Chateau Julia series, and to this day, the winery produces wines of very high quality, making a significant contribution to the country’s wine history, with continuous accolades.

PAIR IT

Pair it with roasted chicken with lemon, sautéed squid with pesto, red mullet marinated with orange and chili

Spaghetti with shrimps, lemon and fennel

1 pack of spaghetti No6, whole-wheat
800 gr. shrimps
2 lemons
5-6 cloves of garlic
1 little bunch of fennel
ground pepper
sea salt
chili flakes
butter

Carefully peel and cut the shrimps’ heads. Place them in a pot with 300ml water and boil them, along with 3 cloves of garlic for 15 minutes. Then, filter the broth with a sieve, by pressing it well and keeping it warm.

At the same time, boil the spaghetti in salted water and cook them “al dente”. Take the lemon zest and chop the fennel.

In a large pan, pour 40 gr butter and the rest of the garlic. Once the olive oil is warm enough, remove the garlic and add the chili flakes.

Place the peeled, boiled shrimps in the hot pan and leave them for 1-2 minutes on each side. Season with salt and pepper, add a little fennel, a bit of lemon zest and pour in the lemon juice.

Remove the shrimps and in the same pan, place the spaghetti directly from the pot and increase the temperature. Add the broth you have prepared and mix well.

When the spaghetti have absorbed all the broth, sprinkle with fennel, pepper and the remaining zest. Serve the spaghetti with shrimp immediately.
