Moschofilero Wild Ferment Gaia Wines is the most “wild” and authentic expression of Moschofilero, having fermented with indigenous yeasts and capturing the character of the variety without filters or heavy intervention. Expressive, full of personality and with a striking colour, it will win you over from the very first sip.
Gaia Wines was founded in 1994 by Yiannis Paraskevopoulos and Leon Karatsalos, with a shared vision of showcasing Greece’s indigenous grape varieties through high‑quality wines. Starting in Santorini and later expanding to Nemea, they succeeded in establishing Gaia as a benchmark producer for Greek wine. Today, with the next generation actively involved, the winery continues to experiment, evolve and push boundaries.
Moschofilero Wild Ferment Gaia Wines comes from a single vineyard in Mantinia, at an altitude of 800 metres. A short period of skin contact lends the wine not only aromatic intensity but also its beautiful salmon hue. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with ambient yeasts, using a combination ofwooden barrels and stainless-steel tanks. Ageing follows in stainless‑steel tanks and barrel (25%), in contact with fine lees, adding texture and depth while preserving freshness.
A Moschofilero with real character, made for true lovers of the variety.
