Why do we love it?

Mâcon-Villages “Nos Cinq Terroirs” 2024 by Famille Paquet comes straight from the heart of Mâconnais in Burgundy—and you’re going to love it for its juicy, stone fruit and citrus aromas, classic hallmarks of Chardonnay from this region. Add in the incredible value, and you’ve got a real gem. This wine is an ode to Mâconnais, crafted from some of its finest vineyards. And with 90 points from James Suckling, it’s officially got the stamp of approval!

It all started in 1980, when Jocelyne and Michel Paquet founded Domaine des Valanges in the village of Davayé, Burgundy. What began as a small vineyard slowly grew into an internationally recognized estate, especially for its wines from Saint-Véran. In 2016, their sons—Camille, Mathieu, and Jean-Baptiste Paquet—took over, expanding into Pouilly-Fuissé and Mâcon while staying true to their roots.

In 2019, they merged all vineyard holdings from Domaine des Valanges and Famille Paquet into one unified estate: Famille Paquet. Today, they farm 50 vineyard plots with deep respect for nature, crafting wines that reflect the unique character of each terroir. Since 2021, their wines are certified organic, and they’ve now fully embraced biodynamic farming.

The 2024 vintage comes from five top vineyard sites—80% in northern Mâconnais, 20% in the south—in the villages of Cruzille, Lugny, Prissé, Loché, and La Roche-Vineuse. The vines range from 10 to 96 years old, growing in diverse soils and microclimates that shine through in the wine. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the vibrant aromatics of each plot. After fermentation, the wine rests on its fine lees for about 7 months, gaining structure and balance that make it unforgettable.

With limited availability and an unbeatable price, Mâcon-Villages “Nos Cinq Terroirs” 2024 by Famille Paquet won’t be around for long. Don’t miss your chance to grab a bottle!

PAIR IT

Pair it with roasted chicken roulade, sautéed scallops, lemon risotto.

Steamed mussels with white wine and black pepper

  • 1 kg mussels, whole (with shell) cleaned and scraped. Alternatively prefer frozen
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • 3 tbsps. of finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 glass of white wine, preferably Assyrtiko

Place the mussels without water in a large saucepan or pan on a high heat and add plenty of pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes until they open. Throw away mussels that will remain closed. Pour in the wine and leave it for a 1 minute in the heat until the excess of liquids is reduced.

Drain the mussels and hold the liquid left in the pan. Place the mussels in a deep platter. Drain the liquors from the mussels and pass them through a cheesecloth and then put them in a small bowl. Add the parsley to the bowl, stir, pour the mixture over the mussels, and serve.
