Why do we love it?

The Now Low Alcohol 2024 from the new No Ordinary Wines project has already stolen our hearts, as it proves that the taste, aroma and pleasure of a well-crafted wine can go hand in hand with lower alcohol without compromising on quality! Roditis and Moschofilero come together in perfect harmony to create a crisp, aromatic rosé, with nearly half the alcohol, so you can enjoy it guilt-free.

Behind the No Ordinary Wines project are four oenologists Giannis and Lito Paraskevopoulou, Vasilis Lafazanis and Mariza Balti. They bring a truly holistic approach to wine, coming from different backgrounds in production, management and sales, but united by a common passion for wine and respect for nature. With the trend for low- and no-alcohol drinks rapidly gaining ground, the No Ordinary Wines team decided to make a strong entry into this exciting field. Their philosophy is to create a drink that lacks nothing compared to a classic wine, while offering a more sustainable and modern choice. Inspired by an ancient Greek and Roman technique of producing light wines, they developed an innovative method that blends tradition, science and creativity to make full use of every part of the grape.

Now Low Alcohol 2024 is made from Roditis and Moschofilero. After the main juice is extracted from the grapes, what remains are the grape pomace which means the skins, seeds, and a little juice still inside them. In antiquity, people would simply add water to this pomace to create a lighter in alcohol wine. In Now Low Alcohol, instead of water, fresh grape juice from another stage of production is added. This way, the pomace releases its remaining aromas and flavors, but without diluting the wine with anything external. The mixture is pressed again and results in a lighter must, which is then left to ferment. The outcome is a wine made entirely from the grape itself, with lower alcohol and a fresher character, but still completely natural and authentic.

It is also worth noting that this method is a textbook example of circular and green economy, not only does it make full use of all by-products of winemaking, but it also avoids additional energy consumption that would otherwise be needed to remove alcohol afterwards.

With Now Low Alcohol 2024 you get a lighter, more sustainable wine, with freshness, aromatic intensity and balance fully intact! It’s the perfect choice for all those days when you wished you could have an extra glass, or when low-alcohol substitutes just didn’t satisfy you. Thanks to its lower alcohol, you’ll never feel limited to just one glass. Give it a try!

On the nose, it bursts with expressive aromas of citrus blossom, fresh strawberry, sour cherry, quince, Turkish delight and white rose petals, lifted by hints of lime and mandarin peel.

On the palate, it shows a light body and refreshing acidity, with a delicate touch of sweetness. The fruit is vivid, led by strawberry and cherry, while lemon and rose add finesse to the ensemble.
