Alvaro Palacios became famous when, together with four others, he put Priorat on the map in the early ’90s. After repeating his success in Bierzo, he decided to return to his homeland, Rioja, and take over the family winery. History recorded a perfect three-for-three, with sky‑high ratings pouring in every year for all of his wines!
Palacios Remondo Rioja Blanco Placet Valtomelloso is a single‑varietal Viura from a 35‑year‑old vineyard at 550 meters altitude, which helps the grapes preserve their natural acidity. Fermentation was carried out with ambient yeasts, followed by 9 months of aging in 2,000‑liter oak vats to round out the wine, adding volume without overshadowing the fruit.
