Why do we love it?

Robola Natural "Palia Armakia" 2018 is undoubtedly one of the wines that steal the impressions in every wine tasting it appears. It is one of those wines that cause queues for just a single sip and force anyone who tastes it to take notes. An organic and natural Robola from the slopes of Aenos, is a big thing!

Both Robola and Kefalonia pursue their laurels, looking Assyrtiko straight in the eyes. The Ionian island with the huge history in winemaking is one of the biggest come-backs in wine history.

For years, Petrakopoulos winery experiments with natural vinifications, specific vineyard sites, limited production and bottles, testing different approaches to Kefalonian varieties. Robola Natural "Palia Armakia" of Petrakopoulos Winery from Thiramona Kefalonia redefines the variety with a natural, raw approach making the most from its character and the terroir in which it is grown.

The recipe is simple yet stunning: no sulphites added, zero intervention and organic farming grapes from a single, pre-phylloxera vineyard. The result is a wine that speaks directly to the instincts. Primitively expressive yet with complex structure. With acidity as its backbone, get ready to be surprised by the multiple layers of flavor that will make you wonder where they were hiding initially.

It is already collective since it was bottled in only 1300 bottles that are selling super-fast.

Enjoy it now or wait for 3-5 years because everything indicates that it gets better every minute.

Tastes Like

It has pale lemon color in the glass.

Medium aromatic intensity with notes of honeysuckle, honeycomb, fig leaves, green almond, juicy, ripe pear and bergamot. A feeling of wet stone reveals the mineral character of the variety. While waiting it will reveal the other side of the island.

On the palate it is medium bodied, with robust acidity that adds nerve and duration. Green apple and citrus fruits such as lemon, lime and citron dominate while slightly floral notes and more intense mineral character follow. The pleasant lemony aftertaste will remain in the mouth for long.
