Robola San Gerasimo from the cooperative Orealios Gaea is a white wine made from the most authentic white variety of the Ionian Islands, Robola of Kefalonia. Orealios Gaea is a cooperative made up of 300 vine growers and has been successfully operating for more than 36 years, aiming to highlight the potential of the Kefalonian vineyard. The vines are cultivated with care and respect for the regions limestone soils, at altitudes above 300 meters.

Robola San Gerasimo from Orealios Gaea comes from a mountainous, low-yield vineyard and ferments at low temperatures to preserve the vibrancy and character of the variety. A 3-month maturation on fine lees seals the final result.

Tastes Like

A discreet nose with aromas of grapefruit, lemon peel, lemon blossom, and jasmine is accompanied by mineral hints reminiscent of wet stone.

On the palate, it has a light to medium body with crisp acidity and juicy fruit, faithfully reflecting the aromas on the nose.

ROBOLA SAN GERASIMO 2024 - OREALIOS GAEA

Enjoy it with cod fricassée, sea bass tartare with citrus and lemongrass, or zucchini fritters with feta cheese.

Steamed mussels with turmeric

  • 700 g mussels
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 Garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp.  turmeric
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • Olive oil
  • Salt (Optional)
  • Pepper

Wash the mussels under plenty of water, removing the sand and seaweed and thoroughly cleaning the shell.

Saute the onion and garlic and add the mussels. Then add 1 tablespoon sweet turmeric and one glass of wine. Let the alcohol evaporate a little and cover the pot to boil for 5'-6 '.

Agitate the pot, remove the cover and serve on a deep dish.

Add freshly ground pepper (salt is optional) and garnish with a sprig of fresh thyme.

TIP: During the wash, throw the open mussels. After cooking,  throw the closed mussels.
