He was undoubtedly one of the greatest Greek wine producers. A wine making genius, a man with a vision that changed the logic of Greece's most important wine-making zone, putting it in the loudest way on the world wine map.
As you may already know, Haridimos Hatzidakis is no longer with us. As a tribute to the great, sensitive wine producer, and in collaboration with the distribution company Aeolos, part of the proceeds will be given to the family of Haridimos Hatzidakis in support of their efforts for the difficult times.
If we were to describe Santorini Cuvee 15 of the Hatzidakis Winery in a word, it would be "shocking".
Why do we love it?
The aim of Haridimos Hatzidakis has always been to display the variety and the place where it is hosted. Its terroir that is. Assyrtiko is cultivated in the privately owned organic vineyards of Pyrgos, Emporios and Mesaria. Minimal intervention and careful selection of the vineyards has always been Haridimos’s great weapon.
Santorini Cuvee 15 of Hatzidakis Winery is the epitome of completeness. The ultimate expression of the island's volcanic character, sharp acidity and full bodied enough to spread on your bread.
The 8 months spent on lees are responsible for its ground-breaking complexity, while the characteristic Haridimos's slightly oxidizing character owes its existence to the manual bottling without filtering with minimal use of sulfates.
When to drink it?
While it is wonderful now, some people may call you "Herod". Best time to drink? If you ask us, keep it in a cool place for 6-7 years.
