La Zaranda, this magnificent natural Sauvignon Blanc from Chile, by Herrera Alvarado is expected to break the bank! Expressive and uniquely complex will win you the first sip.
Herrera Alvarado is an artisanal winemaker who deals with natural winemaking and creates only 3 labels, of extremely limited production. Along with Carolina, his wife, has planted Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Marga Marga Valley. The climate of the region is Mediterranean, with plenty of sunshine, which is ideal for proper ripening of grapes but also for limiting the use of pesticides and chemicals. This is how they grow their grapes organically. Healthy and ripe grapes give their precious juice which is fermented with native yeasts and ripened with its fine lees in cement tanks. The wine is bottled unfiltered and with few interventions.
