5 + 1 SAUVIGNON BLANC 2017 - DOMAINE FLORIAN

You met Gerd and his amazing Syrah. Now it’s time to hear about his son Florian (the domaine is named after him). The 27-year-old Florian showed his love for vines and wines since he was young. From the 2 Gerd and Claudia’s sons, Florian decided to dedicate himself in his father’s vineyard and winery.

Sauvignon Blanc was always one of his true loves. The French variety which is cultivated all over the world, from France to California and from New Zealand to South Africa, integrates with its environment, reflecting it in the best of ways.

In the case of Domaine Florian, it gave a wine true image of the microclimate of the vineyard at Trilofo Thessaloniki.

Unique care of the vineyard, really low yield and minimal wine intervention, gave an expressive wine, representing its terroir. Prepare for a wine which grew with the Aegean sea at its feet, and was born and nourished in soil of clay, sand and limestone, full of minerality.

The Sauvignon Blanc 2016 by Domaine Florian is one of the wines which will make you fall in love with whites, that will bring to mind the most beautiful summers of your past.

Light lemon yellow with greenish reflections in the glass.

Rich nose with a sweet tinge of green and fruity aromas. Beyond the standard and coveted grassy sense of Sauvignon Blanc, aromas of apricot, passion fruit and pineapple actively participate in the wonderful bouquet. Hints chamomile, chalk and quince appear while it remains in the glass.

Medium (+) body, oily texture, gentle acidity and fruity sensation in the mouth. The grass is accompanied by peach, quince and chamomile, with strong mineral hints of chalk. The long-lasting aftertaste leaves lovely sweet feeling of grass and chamomile in the mouth.
