Why do we love it?

We are extremely happy to see new people with such dedication and passion for their work. And Sotiris Gkinis when he came to our office, along with Aoton Seventeen 2017, his eyes glowed when he spoke to us about it. When we tried it, we understood exactly the reason why and we simply loved it too.

An impressive and elegant bottle that carries a very old black-and-white photo of the family's grandfather during the harvest period in Attica. From this, you may understand that we are talking about an emotional wine with a heavy heritage. And these are the wines that we and you like. The wine is made with Savvatiano and Roditis grapes from the privately-owned, family vineyards in Attica, which are harvested at night, the second week of September. Harvest at night is essential for the creation of quality wines in dry climates. After fermentation, the wine remains on its fine lees for about 8 months. The result is a wine with a rich structure and an oily sensation, with enough juicy fruit that is enjoyable plain or with food.

Savvatiano and Roditis are great varieties and can write history in the hands of new and charismatic winemakers. Try Aoton Seventeen 2017 and you will definitely agree with us!

Tastes Like

It has deep lemon color.

Complex and aromatic nose with notes of melon, pineapple, peach, bergamot, and ripe pear. Hints of lime zest, orange blossom and dough complement the interesting bouquet.

On the palate it has medium to full body, balanced acidity and a slightly oily sensation. Peach, pear, bergamot, bitter orange, kumquat, lime and toast make up a tasty set. Delicious citrusy aftertaste that lasts.

PAIR IT

with fried fish, seafood and chicken dishes with lemon sauce.

Steamed mussels with white wine and black pepper

  • 1 kg mussels, whole (with shell) cleaned and scraped. Alternatively prefer frozen
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • 3 tbsps. of finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 glass of white wine, preferably Assyrtiko

Place the mussels without water in a large saucepan or pan on a high heat and add plenty of pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes until they open. Throw away mussels that will remain closed. Pour in the wine and leave it for a 1 minute in the heat until the excess of liquids is reduced.

Drain the mussels and hold the liquid left in the pan. Place the mussels in a deep platter. Drain the liquors from the mussels and pass them through a cheesecloth and then put them in a small bowl. Add the parsley to the bowl, stir, pour the mixture over the mussels, and serve.
