Rare Earths Vidia Strofilia may be a Chardonnay from Asprokampos but in its philosophy and style it is more reminiscent of Chablis. For many it is one of the most beautiful Greek Chardonnays, we just challenge you to find out for yourself.
Strofilia is one of the oldest and most historic wineries in the country. The course of the winery started in 1980 from the common vision of two friends, Giannis Maltezos and Achilleas Lampsidis. They started designing their winery in Anavyssos and 2 years later they created their first wines in the wine press of Maltezos family. This old press called strofilia, that existed there, gave to their winey its name. A lot may have changed since then but Strofilia is now going through its new and very promising era. Rare Earths collection is the premium series of Strofilia and includes high quality wines, with a special character, in strictly limited bottles. The only white in the series is the Rare Earths Vidia Strofilia and it is a Chardonnay from Asprokampos, Stymfalia. This Chardonnay, contrary to what mainly exists on the Greek market, does not go through oak aging but it matures for a short time with its fine wine lees, in stainless steel tanks. The result is lemony, mineral, fresh and delicious.
