Why do we love it?

If you are a fan of natural wines, the Sun White 2024 from Kontozisis Organic Vineyards will pleasantly surprise you with how fruity and aromatic Malagouzia can be, even in its completely natural vinification.

Andreas Kontozisis and Afroditi Tousia were among the first to believe in the purity and authenticity of natural wines and by founding the Kontozisis winery, in the heart of Karditsa, they created a huge movement, based on the faithful application of organic farming. Since 1991, the family has been constantly evolving the art of natural winemaking, with the sole goal of respecting the terroir and nature, which results in producing wines that surprise with their quality, even the most skeptical.

Sun White 2024, made from 100% Malagouzia, is the epitome of this philosophy. After 15 hours skin contact, fermentation occurs in a concrete egg with natural yeasts, where it remains for about 4 months in contact with the lees. It is then transferred to stainless steel tanks for another 3 months, to preserve the fresh and elegant aromas. Bottling is done without filtering, resulting in a complexity that faithfully captures the strong terroir of the place.

Sun White 2024 from Kontozis Organic Vineyards is an excellent example of the philosophy of completely natural winemaking and it cannot leave you unmoved!

PAIR IT

Pair it with oven-roasted lamb, grilled mushrooms, pork with dried apricots, as well as Thai cuisine.

Octopus salad with groats

  • 1 octopus
  • 5-6 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • ½ cup of groats
  • 1 tbsp. capers
  •  Parsley
  •  Oregano

For Marinade

  • 4 tbsps. olive oil
  • 2 tbsps. white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. white balsamic vinegar
  •  Fresh oregano
  •  Salt

Choose how you want to cook the octopus boiled or roasted. Once it's roasted or boiled, cut the tentacles in slices.

Prepare the marinade by stirring all the ingredients and put in the octopus for 1 hour.

Boil the groats with ½ cup water until it dries.

Let the groats cool down before you make the salad. In a salad platter, spread the groats. Then, add the chopped tomatoes in the middle along with the peppers. Add the octopus, capers, chopped parsley and the leaves of the fresh oregano. Pour in the marinade.

Serve cold or hot.
