Albarino Maldonado is a white wine that balances with tremendous mastery the best characteristics of the variety, in the places where it is grown. Yes, you were used to hearing it in the Northwest of Spain, but here we have a big surprise that will flood your palate with aromas of tropical fruits and citrus fruits!
Our surprise came from Uruguay! And even from an awesome team, the Compañía Uruguaya de Vinos de Mar. The small winery is a family business that decided to honor the special soils of the region and make it known to the whole world that Uruguay can have a very good place on the wine map of the world. Organic cultivation, biodynamic practices, zero use of chemicals on the vineyard, and an extra advantageous location on seaside vineyard hills with granite soils and heavy rainfall, create the ideal conditions for great wines.
Albarino Maldonado comes from vineyards that are 40-200 meters above sea level. In the spontaneous fermentation that took place in oak barrels and concrete containers, the entire bunches participated. Then the precious juice was left to rest with the lees for 8 months in Italian oak barrels. It was precisely there that the truce was created!
It is intensely refreshing and with its aromatic freshness, we guarantee that it will make summer nights even more interesting. It is worth telling you that it has already been awarded by Jancis Robinson and Tim Atkin.
