WEINGUT HEINRICH
Weingut Heinrich was founded in 1990 by Gernot and Heike Heinrich in Gols, near Lake Neusiedl. They started with just one hectare and now cultivate 100 hectares using biodynamic practices, certified by Demeter and Respekt. As pioneers in showcasing Austria’s red grape varieties—like Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and St. Laurent—the Heinrichs have become a benchmark for natural winemaking and high-quality, low-intervention wines. Their vineyards span diverse terroirs around the lake, with soils of limestone, schist, and red gravel, shaped by the dry Pannonian climate. They rely on spontaneous fermentation, aging in amphorae and barrels, and use little to no added sulphites.
