Pouilly Fuisse is a village in Burgundy renowned for its oaky Chardonnays and if you add the 9 years of bottle aging, you have this masterpiece called Pouilly Fuisse 2011 Domaine des Gerbeaux!
The family winery was founded in 1896 and since then the generations may have changed, but it is always in the hands of the same family. Nowadays, it is run by Jean-Michel and Béatrice Drouin and their children, Xavier and Laetitia. It is a boutique winery with 13 hectares of vineyards in the Pouilly and Macon regions. Pouilly Fuisse 2011 by Domaine des Gerbeaux is a Chardonnay from old vines, at least 50 years old. The very careful vinification of a single vineyard and the maturation on its fine lees give a wine of remarkable complexity, balance, and enormous aging potential. We are highlighting and putting our signature under the last one since we have a 9-year-old wine in front of us, and not only it’s not tired but it is still young and vibrant. It has become even more complex and ready to accompany sinfully buttery, cheesy dishes with great success!
Very few bottles, you know what to do!
